A decision to make

So an opportunity presented itself today regarding housing. Unfortunatly the other U of A student who was doing the exchange here had to leave, i believe it was due to family problems back home but i am not too sure. So the residence officer here asked me if i would be interestested in moving to another hallway. Now all the guys in the hallway that i am currently living in are about 4 years younger than i am. however this other hallway has all first years as well except for one international student who is my age. so i am torn. do i pack up and leave this corridor for another? the guys here are friendly enough, and not all that loud, but loud enough. but Karen, the residence officer, says that those other guys are quite low key. so i'm not sure what i should do. i am tempted to leave, but i don't want to offend anyone. as well moving into another hallway would mean that i would have to get to know new people, which isn't really a problem, but there will be barriers to break down as they will all know each other and i'll be once again the outsider. but that is basically what i am here as these guys all know eachother and i don't.
but i've been given some time to think about it but i have to say that i am leaning to moving, even though it is going to be a lot of work to do so!
ugh! why can't things just be perfect right from the start!
