First day of Classes

So today was the first day of classes here at Lancaster. they were'nt too bad, in fact i think i am going to enjoy my Geography class, environmental management. there is a conflict with one of my french classes and french classes, as i have a lecture and a seminar at the same time! which blows becausei was interested in learning about Geographies and health. but alas we'll just have to see what happens.
i went into town today to buy some groceries so that i can eat for the next couple of days. it seems like everything is cheap here, as i got a weeks worth of groceries for 15 pounds but that translates to about $40. but i musn't dwell on the financial side of things.
i am trying to open a bank account over here so that i don't have to transfer my money every time i want to access my money back home. but i need a specific form from the residence officer here and when i tried to get it from here she was no where to be seen! so i guess i'll just have to try again tomorrow!
one thing i found out today that really astonished me here was that there is no comprehensive recyling program here at the university ( i can't speak for the rest of the country but..) they just throw things out. like today i had finnished a box of cereal and was looking for a cardboard recycling bin and the cleaning lady told me to throw it out! i mean it was a box that could have easily been reused for something and they just threw it out! i can't stand it. that is such a blatant wasteful disregard for the environment and it sickens me. i think i might have to do something about this. i say that but i am full of guiness while writing this entry and one tends to lead to more activist activities when ineubreated.
but even when i am sober i am sickend by the ammount of waste! but i will sleep on it and deal with it in the morning.
itis 12:05 in the morning, andi have to reset the stupid time everytime i enter a post because for some reason theis stupid blog is still on Alberta time!
okay enough random rambling, must sleep.
still working on the whole pictuer problem and the posting of my pictures, but for the timebeing, just comy and past the webaddress from my last post into the web browser and go from there.
